Moongleam / Original Character: Fursona

Why I chose this costume:

I had a dream where I was wandering around a convention dressed in a hoodie based off the design for Moongleam, my fursona (the animal I most closely resemble). In the dream, everyone knew who I was thanks to the hoodie and it was an amazing feeling. When I awoke, the design stuck with me and I knew I had to make it come to life.

How I made this costume:

I bought a cheap, white hoodie on sale and cut and sewed the sides to make it more fitted. Using polar fleece in black, white, and yellow I created the ears and tail. The ears are sewn into the hood part and supported in a straight-up position with wire and cardboard. The tail is sewn to the bottom of the hoodie and stuffed with a bit of cotton to make it soft and hold its shape. The moon and star tattoo are hand-sewn felt into the pocket of the hoodie.

Thoughts on this costume:

As soon as I finished the design, it just happened to snow, so I quickly tossed it on and got some snowshoe hare pictures in their natural environment. I love this hoodie!
