Why I chose this costume:
Abigail “Fetch” Walker is a badass from the game InFAMOUS Second Son. She’s a conduit who controls Neon as her power and tends to “shoot first, ask questions later”. When I first saw her in the game and heard her New Jersey accent, I just knew she was meant for me. I couldn’t wait to pull together her iconic look.
For some context on her character: Fetch has had a rough life, as the minute her powers made themselves known her parents became afraid of her and called authorities to have her taken away. Her older brother, Brent, grabs their coats and they ran. They ended up crossing the country from New Jersey to Seattle, Washington. During their running away, Brent introduced Fetch to drugs and she was quickly hooked, becoming a junkie at a young age. After a trauma-inducing event, Fetch ditches the drugs and swears revenge on every drug dealer she can find.
How I made this costume:
This was a fun cosplay to get together! I bought the boots and gray leg-warmers from Amazon. The tights were bought from Target and CVS, and were sliced up by pulling them on and running a razor over them. The shorts were bought from ebay and were originally capri pants. I cut them into shorts and rolled and sewed the cuffs with a wavy stitch. The white shirt was bought from Amazon and then hand-dyed at the bottom. I took about three hours to hand-paint the blindfolded skull on the shirt as well. The jacket was my favorite part–it was bought from Amazon, and I used screenshots from the game to sketch out all the tagged neon art on her jacket, then I took three days to paint it all on using a mix of acrylics and fabric paint to prevent the paint from cracking. It came out perfect! I bought her bracelets and fake plug earrings from Amazon. Her nose ring was purchased off ebay and is also fake. The wig was originally very long, purchased from ebay, which I cut and sharpie-dyed to get a more accurate color.
Thoughts on this costume:
Fetch gets a great reaction from a lot of people! Delsin Rowe cosplayers love to find Fetch at conventions and I love getting photos with them. She has a good following of fans and also now has her own spin-off game called InFAMOUS First Light.
