Twitter / Social Media App
- Original Designs and Other
Why I chose this costume:
My co-workers wanted to create a group at work to enter into the annual Halloween contest. Alissa decided we should all be apps and after much debate I was selected to represent Twitter (my favorite app and most used social media site at the time).
How I made this costume:
I bought the shirt from Amazon and already owned the boots and leggings. I bought four yards of teal glitter tulle and made my own tutu which fastened with a white ribbon. I made the chest symbols for Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat by hand and cut them from super sticky felt. Then I added a hair clip to the back of a white feather and added that to my hair.
Thoughts on this costume:
All day I was leaving glitter trails everywhere, but this was the most comfortable costume ever! People recognized the app symbol and I was tweeted, fav’ed and retweeted all day long. I was surprised that a few also understood the feather in my hair as the icon you press to make a new tweet. It was a blast to wear this and win the contest with my awesome app group!
I also wore this out trick-or-treating later that night and so many people recognized it and gave me candy. One couple even asked if I was the “fail whale”.
