Cheza / Wolf's Rain

Why I chose this costume:

Cheza is the flower maiden in this tragic tale of wolves on their way to find paradise. She is born of a lunar flower and thus even in her maiden state is still very much more plant than human. She can talk to all other plants and is blind but she continues to lead the wolves on their journey to paradise.

How I made this costume:

The costume was made of an altered unitard. I hand-painted all the lines directly onto the costume. The chains around her neck and wrists were made with bendable, gold mesh and the chain balls were made with clay-covered tinfoil, which was painted to match the mesh. The wig was shoulder-length and cut to match her style. The cloak was entirely hand-made by me. Her boots were bought, cut to size and painted to be more accurate.

Thoughts on this costume:

I chose to cosplay Cheza simply because I loved her undying effort to help the wolves. She is still a personal favorite character of mine and only one of two that have made the “redo” list now that I have many more sewing skills and prop skills under my belt. This series still makes me cry and is just a beautiful anime overall–I highly recommend it.
