Daken, Dark Wolverine / Marvel
Why I chose this costume:
My friend, Dave, asked if I had time to help him construct a cosplay of Daken. He said he’d take care of the costume, but was worried about the mask and claws. I sent him a great Wolverine claw tutorial to reference and tackled the mask from states away.
How I made this costume:
Using 4-way stretch fabric I crafted the base, black mask. Mapping out the eyeholes was a challenge, as Dave lives very far away so I had to guess a bit and luckily had an extra foam wig head to use as a base. Once I had the black base constructed, I added stretch gold metallic fabric over this to get the shapes of the mask in place and adjust the eyeholes further.
Thoughts on this costume:
Dave did a fantastic job on the cosplay and construction of the claws! The mask arrived in time and after a little alteration, it fit perfectly. Dave sent me these photos in the mail as a thank you, which was very unexpected and super cool.
