Eeyore / Winnie the Pooh
Why I chose this costume:
Eeyore is a pessimistic donkey in the classic Winnie the Pooh stories. Although he often loses his tail and his home, he still has some amazing friends that can make him smile and laugh in any situation.
How I made this costume:
A coworker had commissioned me to create a cute and easy Eeyore costume. She supplied the tracksuit and I simply altered it to become the adorable, blue donkey. I used black yarn, which I wove back and forth around my fingers and then sewed in place as Eeyore’s hair. His ears are blue and pink felt, cut to shape and sewn in place. His tail is also blue felt with a bit more hand-woven yarn for the tail tuft, and a nice pink ribbon tied for his bow. The top of the tail has a hand-sewn buttonhole and a secret bit of yarn sewn to the back of it. The tail can be buttoned to the back of the sweatshirt, but if someone were to remove it from the button, it will simply hang loose and not get lost.
Thoughts on this costume:
Eeyore is a fun character and I really enjoyed working on this commission. It was a breeze to make and looked really cute on my coworker!
