Gunner Snow White / Final Fantasy X-2 X Disney

Why I chose this costume:
Gunner Snow White is a fan-created design by Skirtzzz on DeviantArt. She was inspired to take Disney characters and cross them with the dress spheres from Final Fantasy X-2 video game. Snow White was her first design mixing the classic Princess with the Gunner dress sphere. I fell in love with the way it looked and had to recreate it. With her permission to cosplay her design, I went about creating it from scratch.
How I made this costume:
The wig is my classic Snow White wig, and the red bow headband is from my Pokemon Trainer version of Snow White. The collar is a piece of ribbon that I cut and sewed to create the lapels. It’s held in place with double-sided tape. The arm poofs are made from blue cotton and red satin fabric. They are held in place with elastic bands which are sewn in and help to create the poof look. The bracelets are made of thick gold trim and more of the collar fabric to tie them together and they fasten with velcro. The shirt is made from two-way stretch navy fabric which I cut from scratch without a pattern, and then added gold trim to the front and along the bottom. I added white lace to the top of the shirt. The pantaloons/underwear/booty shorts were made from scratch from four-way stretch white cotton and are fully lined so they aren’t see-through. I added the same white lace that is on the shirt to the bottom of the legs. The stockings are made from the same fabric as the shirt, and I added the same white lace as the shirt and shorts as well which helps in tying the fabrics and look together. The shoes were bought off Amazon and were solid gold in color. I spray painted them red to match the artist’s design, however the shoes have added lace and have higher heels to match my vision of the design. The skirt was made from scratch three times. The first time, it was too skinny. The second time, I felt it was too short. The third time was perfect! It’s made from non-wrinkle silk fabric in three different shades of yellow and is fully lined. I added lace trim to each layer of the skirt and the whole thing is very light-weight which makes it perfect for those action poses! The belt is made from faux leather fabric and a bit of gold trim. The buckle was silver, so I spray painted it gold. The satchel/pouch is made of suede and also took me two tries to get to be the correct size. It’s held in place with some pretty gold cord I found.
The guns were my icing to this cake! I bought resin, replica Twin Bee guns that Gunner Yuna uses in FFX-2 from ebay. When they arrived, I cut the fan end off of each and them marked them with tape to be repainted the colors I needed. After they were dry, I painted the tips bright orange (they don’t have triggers, but I wanted no doubt that they were obviously fake replicas when in public spaces with them) and then I crafted the red apples from wooden balls and all the leaves and filigree are handmade from Worbla. I attached them all together with super glue and I’m really proud of these guns! They make the outfit stand out and I feel more like a gunner with them by my sides.
Thoughts on this costume:
This whole outfit came together quickly and looks fantastic. I truly enjoy Snow White in every form and this one is no exception.
